“ Family quarrels are bitter things. They don't go by any rules. They're not like aches or wounds; they're more like splits in the skin that won't heal because there's not enough material.” ~F. Scott Fitzgerald~

As we know, nowadays people get more and more busy as the need to fulfill their daily necessity is getting higher. One of the results of this situation is that not only the parents, but also the children tend to become apart from each other. This condition is all mainly caused by the less time they have to chat together as a whole family.
First of all, the less time they have with their family means that they don’t have enough talk with each other that actually is needed in order to hold the family’s bundle. Let me give an example;
Suppose that you are the son of very busy businessman-and-women, your Mom and Dad go to work at early morning and come back home at late night. You barely have time to talk with them about your daily activities, such as what did you do in school today, etc. How do you feel?
I believe that many of us will fell very lonesome, considering that each one of us need someone to whom we can pour our heart. As a child, I fully realize this need to be loved and cared by my parents. This is why every time I think about them (as you know, now I live apart from them) I realize that I almost can’t do what I used to accomplish with their presence beside me. For example, school grades, I used to achieve a very good grade with their support, but now I aware that my grades for term one was quiet bad. Fortunately, I have many lovely friends and teachers here that can actually change my parents place (even for a while) and support me with their heart.
Secondly, many people argue that a child with a very busy parents tend to lose control of himself (as he has no one to tell him what is right or wrong).The worst thing happen when the child actually search for an alternative ways to fulfill his need to be loved, for example, by using drugs or worse, joining certain gang. This condition really happens in our community, and it is quiet frightening to see how family bond really matters.

Thirdly, the lack of family time will not only affect the children but also the husband and wife. If let say, they go to work at different place only meet at late night, and at that time both of them are very tired because of their daily chores. They can’t fulfill each other needs not only physically but also mentally. They will be involved in some family quarrels and scarily it will likely to end up with divorcement.
From all of the reason I have given above, I think that the National Family Day is really helpful in binding the family bond that usually can’t be tied considering that many of us nowadays are very busy with our daily jobs. In this event, there will be many series of program and activities that hopefully can tighten the family bond by giving them the opportunity to spend the time together.
